Morocco - Fes, Rabat, Volubilis

The blindingly white tombs of the Jewish Cemetery seem to stretch endlessly down the hill from the southwest corner of the Mellah, the Jewish quarter. The Medersa as-Seffarine, is probably the least well preserved of the theological colleges built in the Medeival period while the Merenid tombs situated on a hill above Fes are dramatic in their advanced state of ruin.

Providing a delightfully tranquil place in which to roam, the Chellah in Rabat contains the ancient Roman City of Sala Colonia and the Merenid necropolis built by sultan Abou al-Hassan Ali in the 14th Century

Volubilis is the best preserved archaeological site in Morocco. Originally settled by Carthaginian traders in the 3rd Century BC, it was annexed by the Roman Empire in about AD 40
